Gargoyle: (dictionary definition)A spout usually in the form of a grotesquely carved face or figure projecting from the roof line/gutter.

A winged creature that sits atop of tall buildings and keeps watch. Traditionally their purpose has been to ward off evil spirits. Gargoyles originated as carvings on the outside of buildings designed to drain water away from the building, spouting it out rather than letting it run down the walls. Their first usage can be traced back to the early 1200s.

While these fearsome creatures may seem grotesque at first glance, give them another look. You will find they have their own special charm.
